Registration for the Józsefváros Festival of Communities

On 26 April 2025, the Józsefváros Festival of Communities will be held again on Horváth Mihály tér.

As a result of an idea that won the 2022 participatory budgetting, the Municipality of Józsefváros organises the Józsefváros Plant Fair every year. Since 2023, the Józsefváros Festival of Communities has been held at the same time as the Craft and Plant Fair, where NGOs and communities from the district can introduce themselves.

We welcome applications from NGOs and communities with ties to Józsefváros who would like to showcase their activities on a playful, programme-packed spring day. Application deadline: 5 April 2025.

Participants will be offered a stand where they can set up their own activities. In addition to meeting the residents of the district, there will be the possibility to organise activities, workshops or talks related to the theme of the event (communities, groups, NGOs and organisations in Józsefváros).

We will use the introduction to promote the event, as well as to get to know you better. Write a text of about 300 characters.

  • Participating communities will be provided with a stall/table and 1 foldaway chair per stall.
  • There is a drinking fountain and an accessible public toilet on the square, which is operated with a 10 forint coin.
  • Electricity will only be available for a limited number of stalls.
  • What will you decorate your stand with? Can you bring a banner/flag/roll up? If so, how will you secure them?
  • Would you like to sell or collect donations at your stand?

At each stall (station), visitors can collect points (stickers) for participating in an activity. If you participate in the game as a station, you will be expected to do short, playful activities that are informative and engaging. The aim of the scoring game is to help them to get to know you better. If a participant manages to collect at least 10 points, they will receive a Józsefváros Communities Gift Pack.

  • The first 100 participants to collect 10 points will receive a Józsefváros Communities Gift Pack. These will contain items and donations that belong to organisations and communities in Józsefváros.
  • It is okay if you can’t donate 100 items, the more colourful these packages are, the more local they will be!

The event runs from 10:00-17:00. In order to allow as many organisations and communities as possible to present themselves, we will welcome you in two rounds in case of oversubscription! The Józsefváros Craft and Plant Fair, children’s activities, roundtable discussions and music will take place on the square at the same time as the event.
