Share your opinion about Dankó Courtyard!

The Dankó Courtyard is an outdoor community place at Dankó utca 18., which was one of the winning ideas of the 2022 Participation Budget in the 8th District. The courtyard is open during a test period between May and October 2024, organised by RÉV8 Zrt. The test period will end on 26 October. It is time to evaluate the last 6 months, so we are asking the residents to tell us what they liked or did not like, and how the courtyard should be used in the future. 

Volunteers from the Józsefváros Municipality will go around the neighboring houses asking for feedback in person. 

Deadline for filling out the survey: 31 October 2024. 

The survey is anonim and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

We would like to invite you to celebrate the Danko Courtyard test period together on 19 October from 2 pm! There will be a wreath-making session, lino-cutting, sports and a communal picnic.

II. Questions regarding the programs

Throughout the trial period we offered free activies every day, like clay carving, macramé making, badminton training and parent-children football training. We also had special activities, for example a children’s day celebration, four open-air cinema screenings, glass mosaic making and a presentation on native plants. In this section we ask for your feedback on the programmes.

III. Questions regarding the operation

During the opening hours in the courtyard there is a district guard at the entrance and one or two community workers, depending on the time of day. The community workers are the guardians of the place, who look after the visitors, enforce the rules and also run activities. District guards are responsible for enforcing the house rules and providing supervision.

IV. Questions regarding the rules of the Dankó Courtyard

The rules of Dankó Courtyard were set to allow as many people as possible to enjoy the courtyard without disturbing each other. Therefore, no alcohol or tobacco consumption is allowed, and no illuminated persons are allowed in. Playing ball is allowed from Monday to Saturday from 4pm until closing time. During the test period, the courtyards opening hours varied depending on the season. In May and June the court was open from 10 am to 7 pm, in July and August from 8 am to 8 pm, and in September and October from 10 am to 7 pm.

V. Questions regarding the physical space

The courtyard has been constantly evolving during the test period as we received feedback on what else was needed, such as toys for toddlers, a firepit and a longer hose. Now we’re asking you to think about what else could make the courtyard better? It could be bigger things like a slide, but it could also be as small as new furniture or a barbeque.

VI. Questions regarding the future of Dankó Courtyard

The test period for Dankó Courtyard will end in October 2024, and the municipality will decide on the future of the yard on the basis of this evaluation.
