I’d like to submit a proposal for offernig Hungarian-English translation by volunteers (younger Hungarian speakers) who are willing to help internationals when they are getting a doctor’s appointment, blood test, with their TAJ card. The doctors themselves don’t have to speak English, understandably. But we could find volunteers who can translate and guide patients in their medical services process.
Internationals would feel less fear and anxiety when it comes to making doctor’s appointments with a GP. Health is one of the vital neccesities one should have, and my idea would help them feel at ease.
Young volunteers who are eager to help the community can help.
The idea will be presented to a citizens’ working group that will decide whether it should be on the ballot paper for the participatory budget in September.
